Which Facebook links can be checked
Use a public Watch, video, or Reel link, including facebook.com, fb.com, and fb.watch addresses. Open the Facebook video downloader, paste the URL, and review the title and thumbnail before you save anything.
Friends-only posts, private groups, and videos behind a login are not fetched. If Facebook does not publish a direct file for that public video, the result explains that instead of inventing a download.
Copy the link
Take the address from Facebook itself so the tool can recognize the host.
- Open the video or Reel in Facebook.
- Use Share, then Copy link. On desktop you can also copy the address bar while the video is open.
- Paste it into the downloader and press Get Download Links.
- Choose an MP4 if one is listed, or open the original post if Facebook did not provide a file.
Keep the save authorized
A public link is not the same as permission to republish it. Download videos you created, or videos the owner allowed you to keep. Do not re-upload someone else's video to a page, ad, or other account.

Questions
Do fb.watch links work?
Yes. Short fb.watch and fb.com links are recognized as Facebook.
Can I download a private group video?
No. Group-only and friends-only posts are never accessed.
Why is there no MP4 button?
Facebook did not publish a direct file for that video, or the post is not public.
